(WECT) - Multiple units from Leland, North West, Winnabow and New Hanover County responded to a house fire at Dove Field Court in the Snee Farm neighborhood in Leland around 9:15 p.m. Monday night. According to the County Fire Chief, the fire destroyed about 60% of the house and the whole house suffered smoke damage. The Fire Chief confirmed they were able to rescue a dog and that the residents had already escaped from the home. ....

The extended silence regarding the proper use of ketamine â which played a role in the October 2019 death of a Mount Pleasant man who was injected with it after resisting police officers â gives us little comfort that authorities are learning what they should to reduce the likelihood of future tragedies. Hereâs what we know: Jamie Britt, 50, died in Mount Pleasant after he resisted police officers who had stopped to check on him while he was changing a tire near the entrance to the Snee Farm subdivision.
