The Champions in Action Program is calling on Western Pennsylvania nonprofits to apply for a $35,000 grant package with volunteer assistance and Trib Total Media coverage.
Champions in Action, sponsored by Citizens Bank, Trib Total Media and Pittsburgh Cares, identifies, promotes and rewards local nonprofits serving the community .
Last month, Citizens, Trib Total Media and Pittsburgh Cares honored the Center of Life, naming the Hazelwood nonprofit a Champion in Action. Center of Life was honored because it collaborated with other nonprofits to deliver almost 200,000 meals, distribute more than 1,000 face masks and launch a community learning hub at Spartan Community Center in Hazelwood.

Citizens Bank, Trib Total Media and Pittsburgh Cares have named Center of Life in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood neighborhood as a 2021 Champion in Action, an award that comes with $35,000 in funding and promotional and volunteer support.
The announcement was made Wednesday at Hazelwood’s Spartan Community Center, where Center of Life launched a community learning hub for students to have a safe place for online education.
