World leaders will attend in person and digitally the grand events, marking the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from March 17-27.
Dhaka is set to welcome the high-level dignitaries, who will visit in person, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Nepalese President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
As per the schedule, the Maldives president will visit Bangladesh on March 17-18, the Sri Lankan premier on March 19-20, the Nepal president on March 22-23 and the Indian premier on March 26-27. ....

In a meeting with his Sri Lankan counterpart, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi underscored the importance Pakistan attached to its relations with Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
The foreign minister also discussed further strengthening the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, a statement issued by the foreign office maintained.
Speaking to the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in a bilateral meeting in Colombo, Qureshi stressed that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s present visit was reflective of the priority accorded to this relationship. ....
