Tirupati– Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) additional executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy on Monday lamented that ‘Veda Sakhas’ have plummeted from 1,331 to just nine over the years and exhorted that there is a need to safeguard and propagate the ‘Vedas’.
“Though we had 1,331 Veda Sakhas, only nine of them are available now. We need to safeguard and propagate this great treasure for the sake of our future generations,” said Reddy on the 15th anniversary of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University.
Addressing the Vedic fraternity, he said the fruits of the vast knowledge available in the Vedas should reach everyone in the society to lead a righteous life. ....

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which governs the ancient shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala in Tirupati, on Wednesday announced that Lord Hanuman s birthplace was Anjanadri, a hillock at Japali Theertham located about 5 km from north of the hill temple. One month after the vandalisation of Lord Rama’s idol at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple located on the Bodikonda hill, the government on Thursday installed the idols of Sri Rama, Lakshmana and Goddess Sitadevi in the Balalayam, a temporary temple, at Ramateertham, 12 km away from Vizianagaram city.
On the suggestion of the AP Endowments Department, the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD)’s sculpture and architecture wing carved the idols and sent them to Ramateertham. ....

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer K.S. Jawahar Reddy has announced that all the Vedapathasalas functioning across the country will be brought under the purview of the Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) in Tirupati.
At a review meeting here on Tuesday, he said the move was aimed at ensuring development of the Vedic studies and academic congruence.
“Six institutes will be brought under the ambit of the varsity soon. A committee comprising Vedic experts will be set up to frame guidelines on eligibility, selection process, admission, syllabus, courses and certif4ication. The panel will submit recommendations within a month,” said Mr. Jawahar Reddy. Bringing all the Vedic institutes under a single roof would go a long way in ....
