Speaking after reviewing the COVID care situation in the district through a virtual platform, with the representatives of the district and District Commissioner, he said, steps would be taken to provide the required infrastructure for the district hospital (SNR Hospital) and other government hospitals of the district. ....

In a big move, now Kambala Academy has decided to allow women jockeys from 2022. K Gunapala Kadamba, President, Kambala Academy and Founder-Secretary of Dakshina Kannada Kambala Committee, said that the academy would issue a release inviting entries from women contenders once the current season concludes. The eligible women candidates will undergo a health check-up and then get selected for the training. This time, those who get selected will be trained by women coaches only. The training is likely to start in September and the women jockeys may be ready to take over the game from the next season. ....

The number of workers at the Taiwanese company, the first Apple supplier to produce iPhones in India, surged to about 9,000 in November from some 2,000 just before the pandemic, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Wistron hired the contractual workers from six manpower companies, the people said, asking not to be identified because the matter was private. A representative for Wistron declined to comment. ....
