Deloitte issued its damning report to council last November. In early December, I applied to the council for the report to be publicly released, under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act.
Late in January, the council’s official information team advised me that they were refusing to release it publicly, until March. As we now know, Deloitte’s independent review determined that the foundation operates very high cost structures, was not transparent and failed to fully co-operate with the review. ....

The Christchurch Foundation is reassuring its donors that all donations have been used as intended after a review found a lack of transparency with the charity s financial reporting.
In a public statement, chief executive Amy Carter said: We recognise that the media coverage of the last few days about The Christchurch Foundation may have been upsetting to the thousands of generous people, businesses and community groups across the world that have gifted through our organisation. ....

Christchurch Foundation criticises review of its finances

The comments were made today by the chair of the Christchurch Foundation when he fronted up, along with his chief executive, to a grilling from Christchurch City councillors.
Christchurch Foundation was set up in 2017 to attract donations for worthy causes in the city.
To start, the council promised $600,000 a year to cover operating costs, like wages for its three staff and chief executive.
Wanting to check it was getting good value for money, the council ordered a review by Deloitte.
Today at a council meeting, the foundation s chair and rich lister Humphry Rolleston described the council s brief to Deloitte as strange. ....
