New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: India added 3,62,727 new coronavirus infections in a day taking the COVID-19 tally of cases to 2,37,03,665, while the death toll rose to 2,58,317 with 4,120 daily fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. The active cases have increased to 37,10,525 comprising 15.65 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 83.26 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,97,34,823 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.09 per cent, the data stated.

With reports of lockdown norms being violated in some areas of the state, Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij Tuesday asked people to follow all Covid-related guidelines or be prepared for further restrictions. The strict measures we are (already) taking to check the spread of virus cannot be successful without people s cooperation, Mr Vij told reporters Tuesday, urging the public to help authorities enforce the ongoing lockdown in the state.
Many people have lost their lives while several others have contracted the infection, he said, adding people must not venture out unless urgent.

Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Sunday said a complete lockdown would be imposed in the state for seven days from May 3 in view of the rising Covid-19 cases.
On Friday, the government had
imposed a weekend lockdown in nine districts Gurgaon, Faridabad, Panchkula, Sonipat, Rohtak, Karnal, Hisar, Sirsa, and Fatehabad from 10 pm on Friday till 5 am on Monday.
The other restrictions that were recently put in place to break the chain of transmission of Covid-19 include imposition of prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC and night curfew.
