Trumbull County vaccine providers are the Trumbull County Combined Health District, Warren City Health Department, Trumbull Regional Medical Center, Mercy Medical Center’s Howland Medical Center and Giant Eagle pharmacy locations. Residents can contact the pharmacies, medical centers or health departments to schedule appointments when their age bracket is scheduled. Starting Tuesday is for residents 80 and older. Information on where to get vaccinated is available at coronavirus.ohio.gov/vaccine. Appointments at any location are required. Those going for the vaccine must follow the Ohio COVID-19 guidelines, with masks and social distancing. ....

HOWLAND Trumbull County has received 2,300 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and will begin distribution next week with one of the main locations to be the Trumbull County Fairgrounds in Bazetta, where a drive-thru vaccination clinic will begin Wednesday.
The vaccine also has been given to area hospitals and Giant Eagle pharmacy locations in the county. ....

The Youngstown City Health District and Ohio National Guard have been offering free COVID-19 testing with no advance registration every Thursday since Sept. 26. Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health extended the state’s 10 p.m.-to-5 a.m. curfew to Jan. 2, DeWine said during his Thursday coronavirus briefing.
While there is nothing “magical” about 10 p.m., the time allows businesses to stay open to a meaningful time, but also reduces the amount of time for people to interact in businesses, potentially spreading the virus, DeWine said. The decision is rooted in science and based on the advice of medical professionals, he said.
“If you can reduce contact, you will statistically reduce the spread of the virus,” he said. ....
