United Way of Central Indiana issues grants

INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) United Way of Central Indiana has awarded nearly $2 million in unrestricted grants to 18 human services organizations in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks and Morgan counties. The United Way says the funding, which is supported by Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc., will help in the recovery from the pandemic.
UWCI says workgroups made up of community relations staff and county representatives analyzed needs and offered funding recommendations for food, housing, health, transportation, mental health and support for youth and seniors.

SUPORTING SENIORS The Hancock County Commissioners Thursday agreed to provide a letter of support to assist Hancock Count Senior Services.

NEW CUMBERLAND – The Hancock County Commission will offer its support in an effort to encourage state officials to allow senior citizens in the county to, once again, have access to nutrition, transportation and other services usually available to them.
Beth Wolanski, director of Hancock County Senior Services, attended Thursday’s commission meeting to request help in getting the state to allow the county senior center to reopen. In-building programs had been stopped as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. ....

Memorial Hospital Foundation receives donation

Sunday, January 10, 2021 – Memorial Hospital Foundation recently was named the recipient of the American’s Farmer Grow Communities donation from Bayer Fund.
This donation was made on behalf of Hancock County farm land owner, Leora Wilson. Mrs. Wilson’s nomination card was selected for Hancock County. She then selected Memorial Hospital Foundation Caring Back Club to receive the funds. Memorial Hospital Foundation Caring Back Club started in March of 2020 in order to support those in need as a result of COVID-19. Funds were secured and delivered through the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri. ....
