The Hamburg Township Board of Trustees has approved revisions to a Mixed Planned Unit Development.
In February, the Murie Glen MPUD gained preliminary approval for a roughly 49-acre site between the Mystic Ridge subdivision to the west and Merill Road to the east. On Tuesday, Township Planner Scott Pacheco brought a revision to the Board because one of their conditions for approval could not be met and had to be amended. The condition called for the showing of legal access to roads, but the township attorney found they could not do that for Thompson Pond Road. The proposed connection to an existing unimproved stub of Shadbush Trail needed to be re-addressed. ....

WHMI 93.5 Local News : Hamburg Township To Hold Both In-Person & Virtual Meetings

The Hamburg Township Board plans to make determinations to hold future meetings either in-person or virtually based on anticipated participants.
The board earlier adopted a resolution declaring a State of Emergency or SOE, which was needed to allow virtual meetings to continue for the board and other bodies such as the Planning Commission and committees.
The board met virtually on Tuesday afternoon and Supervisor Pat Hohl said based on technical issues; itâs pretty cumbersome for staff to do any type of blended meeting. He said with recent changes, the board can hold a regular meeting at the township hall off Merrill Road with masks and social distancing. ....

Various department updates and year-in-review reports were delivered during a special meeting Wednesday night of the Hamburg Township Board, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Parks & Recreation Committee.
Code Enforcement Officer Ted Michowski reported that they had to change the way a lot of things are done due to COVID when it comes to enforcement, meeting with people and issuing permits. When it comes to code enforcement, the number of complaints are said to be consistently steady without any huge spikes - and that held true for 2020. Michowski said the types of complaints did differ a bit and some were pretty but he attributed that to people being home more and around their neighbors with more time on their hands. He noted that some people were more argumentative but felt that could be from tempers being up so heâs tried to be more sympathetic. ....

WHMI 93.5 Local News : Hamburg Township Renews Deal With Ann Arbor SPARK

Hamburg Township officials have agreed to extend their contract with Ann Arbor SPARK.
The Hamburg Township Board of Trustees met with SPARK Director of Business Development for Livingston County, Marcia Gebarowski, at their latest meeting. Ann Arbor SPARK partners with the Economic Development Council of Livingston County to attract, grow, promote, and retain businesses locally. Hamburg Township has participated in the program with the EDC for 9 years, and was considering a three-year renewal at the meeting.
Treasurer Jason Negri asked Gebarowksi what the township has received for their participation so far. Gebarowski said they helped with bringing PRT Growing into the township two-and-a-half years ago, but their main successes have been in supporting existing Hamburg businesses. Among those mentioned were Visualization Tech Services which has committed to 15 new jobs and a $300,000 investment. Flexible Metals is also working wit ....
