BSA opens new cancer center campus

Officials with the BSA Healthcare System recently announced the opening of its new Harrington Cancer Center Joyce Courson Campus. Located at 1751 Wallace Boulevard, across the street from BSA Hospital, the 48,000-square-foot-facility will provide treatments for cancer patients in the region. 
“This facility provides new opportunities for patients undergoing cancer treatments,” Bob Williams, BSA s president and chief executive officer, said in a news release. “We are proud to offer patients even greater access to the latest innovative cancer treatments from diagnosis to recovery and are committed to providing our community with the highest quality of care.”
According to the release, the facility has two new linear accelerators for radiation treatments, 24 patient exam rooms, 28 heated chemotherapy infusion chairs, three private infusion rooms for families as well as new laboratory analyzers. ....

BSA Hospice of the Southwest hosts 30th tree lighting ceremony


During the holiday season for the last 30 years, BSA Hospice of the Southwest has a symbolic Christmas tree lit up outside in front of their office, located at 5211 SW 9th St.,  for the community to see, reminding the employees, and the community, of the individuals they serve each year as well as the mission of Olivia’s Angels, the organization which helps provide these services.  
But this year, the usual in-person lighting of the tree ceremony had to be moved to a virtual setting, like many gatherings, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 
But officials with the organization believe that message of joy and hope symbolized by the tree remain the same, and are potentially even more important in 2020.  ....

Women's Circle raises $40,000 for area organizations

According to the release, this is the 13th year of the organization, and since it began, more than $320,000 has been awarded to local programs that impact women s health. The money is raised through membership dues and corporate sponsorship. Members of the Women s Circle attend quarterly luncheons featuring programs on topics concerning women s healthcare.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation Women’s Circle has awarded nine grants totaling $40,000 to local organisations that impact women’s health and well-being.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - BSA Hospice of the Southwest would like to invite the community to the 30th annual Olivia’s Angels Christmas tree lighting, which is being held virtually this year.
“The lighting of the Olivia’s Angels tree is a long-standing hospice tradition,” Kimberli Phillips, Professional Services Manager for BSA Hospice, said. “It not only honors Sister Olivia Prendergast, but it’s also a way to raise much-needed funds for an organization that does so much for our patients.” ....
