A VAN used to dump waste illegally during a string of fly-tipping offences has been seized by Council officers after it was spotted parked on double yellow lines.
Bradford Council has described the seizure as a small victory in the war against fly tipping, and attempts are now being made to find the owner of the van, which will either be sold or crushed.
The 14-year-old Renault Kangoo had been seen on at least six occasions, fly-tipping in and around the Bradford West area. ....

A tree for every child takes a step forward at Addingham Primary School


BRADFORD Council’s pledge to plant a tree for every child - 55,000 trees – over the next two years has taken a first step with new trees at Addingham Primary School.
The council’s Trees and Woodlands team planted 55 trees in the school grounds with help from the children. A further 200-300 trees are set to be planted at the school in 2021.
The Tree for Every Child project was launched last month when tree planting work at Horton Park Primary and the Canterbury Estate featured on the BBC’s Countryfile programme. The Council is investing £250,000 into the tree planting programme. Schools and community groups have been invited to express an interest in taking part in the project, with a number of options, including a school orchard, native trees for the school grounds, or contributing to new woodland areas. ....

A MAN has been fined for failing to provide evidence that he had permission to dispose of household waste - after numerous bin bags were dumped near a primary school.
Aaron Burnett appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court on Tuesday, charged with two charges relating to the dumping of household waste. They were brought after a number of bin bags that were left on land near Horton Park Primary in April 2019.
He pleaded guilty to depositing, without an environmental permit, controlled / extractive waste in / on land and failing to produce controlled waste transfer documentation to Bradford Council. ....
