Shots fired, no one hurt, Thursday morning in Westhaven

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Here we go again… another shots fired incident in Charlottesville. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this case, but officers responded shortly after midnight this morning to a “shots fired” called in the 800 block of Hardy Drive… which is near 8th Street NW in Westhaven. Upon arrival, they found about a dozen shell casings at the scene. No injuries or damage was reported.
Anyone with information is urged to call Charlottesville Police at (434) 970-3280 or Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating reports of heavy gunfire in the Hardy Drive area, as well as along Longwood Drive.
CPD announced Monday, May 3, that officers had responded to the Hardy Dr. area around 10:20 p.m. Friday, April. They reportedly found roughly 50 handgun and rifle shell casings on the scene.
The department says multiple apartments and four vehicles in the Westhaven community were struck by gunfire. Bullets also hit an apartment at the Standard on West Main Street, narrowly missing a person sitting in their bedroom. ....

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Come as you Are Cville is working to eliminate more barriers to giveaway events by setting up shop in different neighborhoods all week long.
The nonprofit group had been organizing clothing distribution events in area parks, but in order to reach people without transportation organizers are now going into low-income neighborhoods to reach more people.
Every day for the week of April 19, the group will be in a different neighborhood giving out clothing to anyone and everyone. ....

Police investigating several shots fired calls, one narrowly missing a child

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Charlottesville Police are investigating and very concerned about multiple shots fired calls throughout the city the past few days. The most recent Saturday morning barely missed a sleeping child.
Police say they were called around 7 Saturday morning to the 800 block of Hardy Drive to a disorder with shots fired. The randomly fired bullet traveled two blocks and hit a house in the 800 block of Anderson Street near where a child was sleeping in its bed.
The night before, city police were called to the 900 block of Nassau Street for a report of 8-to-10 shots fired with a car of unknown make or model leaving the area at a high rate of speed. No one was hurt. ....
