庭审结束的那天，胡安明返回家中，但他并未获真正自由。他处在居家监禁状态已超过两年了，除了去看医生以外，他只在每周日被允许短暂外出、到其辩护律师家中参加烧烤聚会。
近日的一场网上新闻发布会上，胡安明对BBC表示，他会继续为其清白而战。
检方指，胡安明未上报他在北京工业大学的夏季兼职活动，有意欺骗了向他拨款的美国国家航空航天局（NASA）。他被控六项电信诈骗与虚假陈述罪名，将面临最高20年监禁。他并未被控经济间谍或转移技术等罪名。
胡安明一方则称，在田纳西大学的校规下，此类短期兼职并不构成利益冲突，他也从未就此欺瞒校方与国家航空航天局。胡从北京工业大学获得的报酬每年少于2000美元。
FBI办案手法引争议
根据当地媒体《诺克斯维尔前哨报》（Knoxville News Sentinel）的报道，负责胡案的探员接到线报称胡安明参与了中国的“千人计划”， 一项引进海外人才的项目，美国认为这项计划对其国家安全造成威胁。
FBI探员在2018年3月使用“谷歌翻译”阅读了一则关于胡安明的中文新闻稿，随后就开启了针对他涉及经济间谍罪的调查。一个月后，探员上门拜访胡安明，胡否认曾参与过“千人计划”。探员得知胡即将前往中国参与一场学术会议时，要求他参会后向FBI汇报。
胡安明在法庭作证说，探员当时要求他返美后上报接触过的人与对方提出的请求，探员还说是想要“保护”胡。
胡安明的辩护律师菲尔·罗莫纳克（Phil Lomonaco）则在新闻发布会上称：“这听起来像是他们想让他前往中国、收集主持会议的那所大学的情报。”
胡拒绝前往中国参会，FBI随即监视他与其儿子近两年，但没有找到他涉嫌犯下经济间谍或其他严重刑事罪名的证据。

华盖医疗长三角基金合伙人邓量表示，“PAQ Therapeutics 采用复旦大学鲁教授原创的ATTEC技术，省去繁琐的大规模筛选步骤，得到小分子胶水将目标蛋白绑定至自噬小体进行降解。嵇楠博士在蛋白降解领域也有着丰富的产业经验。此次投资是华盖资本投资策略中全球创新技术和工业界经验相结合的典范。”
PAQ利用人体细胞内降解最全面的天然机制 自噬，来开发全新的疗法。这种机制相比基于泛素化的蛋白降解（proteolysis-targeting chimeras, PROTAC）的潜在应用更广泛，既可以降解致病蛋白，也可降解脂肪、病原体以及其他致病的底物。
PAQ 独创的新型自噬小体绑定化合物 (autophagosome-tetheringcompound, ATTEC)是一种小分子化合物。其相关技术由复旦大学鲁伯埙教授实验室于2019年在世界顶级学术期刊《自然》上首次发表。这种化合物有潜力能够有选择性地催化加速自噬依赖性降解而清除多种致病底物，包括蛋白质和非蛋白质，如聚合物、线粒体、脂质和病原体等。PAQ最初专注于开发一种遗传性中枢神经系统（CNS）疾病的治疗药物 ，而后续计划拓展到其他蛋白和非蛋白靶点来用于治疗肿瘤、代谢病等多种重大疾病。A轮融资将支持PAQ快速推进其 ATTEC 平台及管线产品的开发。
“PAQ在中美两地均设有分公司以充分利用两地各自的资源优势。国内外的专家团队正在共同努力，利用高效的自噬途径，通过精准定位来清除病原，”PAQ联合创始人、总裁兼首席执行官嵇楠博士说，“ 利用泛素-蛋白酶体 (UPS)的蛋白降解技术PROTAC在最近几年显示了降解技术相比于传统蛋白酶小分子抑制剂的独到之处，并已逐渐开始在临床试验中得到验证。但是基于其机理的局限性，PROTAC技术不仅在很多重要的蛋白靶点药物开发上的难度很大，而且对其他致病的非蛋白质的底物也难以发挥作用。PAQ 的 ATTEC 技术相比之下虽然更新，也有一些技术难点需要攻克，但靶点可以更加广谱，也为靶向降解提供了更加强有力的工具。我们开发的基于自噬的降解技术是药物设计开发上的重要突破，它大大拓展了重要靶点的可成药性。”
PAQ 的中美团队拥有数十年的药物开发及自噬生物学的经验。首席执行官嵇楠博士毕业于哈佛大学化学系，拥有大型跨国制药公司以及早期生物制药公司丰富的研发和领导经验。加入PAQ之前，他任全球领先的蛋白降解公司KymeraTherapeutics副总裁。其领导的团队开发了首个进入临床的非抗癌类PROTAC药物IRAK4 降解剂，以及今年预期进入临床的IRAKIMiD和STAT3 降解剂；此外，复旦大学的鲁伯埙教授（2020年科学探索奖得主）、PAQ生物学主管郝淮湘博士（前诺华全球研发中心资深研究员）共同参与创办公司。
