Apparently, President Joe Biden’s handling of the border crisis isn’t quite winning him support among the American people.
In poll after poll, Biden is taking a beating over his handling of illegal immigration. In the first major crisis of his administration, Joe Biden isn’t just losing — he’s losing big.
According to The Hill, in a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, 48 percent of Americans approve of how Biden is doing at the southern border. That’s down from the 56 percent that approved of his performance in February. The poll of 1,945 registered voters was conducted from March 24 to March 25 via an online sample. ....

WASHINGTON (AP) U.S. health officials have authorized two more over-the-counter COVID-19 tests that can be used at home to get rapid results.
The move by the Food and Drug Administration is expected to vastly expand the availability of cheap home tests that many experts have advocated since the early days of the outbreak. The announcement late Wednesday comes as U.S. testing numbers continue to slide, even as the number of new coronavirus infections is rising again. ....

New York Teen Becomes First Black Valedictorian At Albany High School

In today s edition of Rooting For Everybody Black,
Onovu Otitigbe-Dangerfield has made history at Albany High School in New York. With a nearly perfect academic record, Otitigbe-Dangerfield has become the school s first Black valedictorian. To put this all in perspective. the school has been open for more than 150 years.
As wild as it sounds, the graduating senior is as well known for endeavors outside of the classroom as she is known for endeavors inside the classroom. Otitigbe-Dangerfield is the president of the school s key club and editor-in-chief of the school s newspaper. Above all else, she has a strong passion for engineering and robotics. Winning her first robotics competition at just three years old, the New York native has had to break down barriers as she ascends in a field dominated by white men. Her persistence and determination earned her the position of president in the school s robotic team. ....

National Education Equity Lab Now in Broward County


Since its inception two years ago, the nonprofit National Education Equity Lab has enrolled 3,000 students from roughly 80 low-income high schools across 35 U.S. cities in courses taught by professors at Harvard, Yale, Howard, and Cornell. The high schoolers follow the same course material as the college students enrolled in the classes, with the opportunity to receive college credit.
At Broward County s Miramar High School, 47 students are taking Psychology and the Good Life, a popular course offered by Yale. The psychology class and a Harvard course, Poetry in America: The City From Whitman to Hip-Hop, are now available for Broward students at each of the district s Title I high schools, generally defined as those where a large portion of the student population lives in poverty. ....
