Man sentenced to 50 years for sexual abuse of a child

Randell Scott Eads, 33, was sentenced to 40 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for continuous sexual abuse of a young child April 29. In addition, he was sentenced to 10 years for four charges of possession of child pornography, a third degree felony, to run concurrent with a sentence of 10 years for failure to register as a sex offender.

Due to the seriousness of the charges, he will be ineligible for release until 2060, when he is in his seventies.

One of my first priorities when taking office in January of this year was to work hard to ensure justice for all victims, especially our most vulnerable child victims, District Attorney Jenny Palmer said. This sentence ensures that the public is protected from this heinous predator and requires the defendant to serve every day of a 40-year sentence with no possibility of parole. ....

Athens man sentenced to 40 years for sexual abuse of a child

ATHENS, Texas On Thursday, April 29, a man has been sentenced to 40 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child in Henderson County.
Randell Scott Eads, 33, was sentenced to 10 years for four charges of Possession of Child Pornography (a third-degree felony) to run concurrently with a sentence of 10 years for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (a third-degree felony) that he received on February 11, 2021.
Due to the seriousness of the charges, Eads will be ineligible for release until 2060, when he is in his seventies.

The Henderson County Sheriff s Office will now keep the Eustace Municipal Court arrest warrants and Sheriff Botie Hillhouse likes that just fine.
Commissioners Court voted to keep the warrants on the county system on Tuesday.
It s going to cause us a little more work, but I truly like having them here because if they re not housed here at the sheriff s office, sometimes we can t see them, Hillhouse said.
That s important if the county pulls someone over who is wanted for a charge out of Eustace. With them in the county system, other entities within the county will also benefit. ....

Last week, the East Texas Council of Governments released its annual Solutions Report, a snapshot of results delivered within each of the 14 counties it serves during the Fiscal Year 2020.
