KEWANEE, Ill. A Vacation Bible School in Kewanee, Illinois, is now being linked to several positive covid cases. Around 50 kids attended the week-long event at First Christian Church, who says they took swift action when they found out what was happening.
Now, the Henry & Stark County Health Department is warning anyone who could be linked to the event, held from July 12-15, to take precautions. Even a week later, the department says they re still seeing new positive cases arise, that can be traced back to the church.

Health Department says online vaccine registration process has improved

Health officials say progress in vaccinating seniors, healthcare workers and essential workers has made it easier for residents to register online for a clinic appointment.
On Monday, the Henry & Stark County Health Departments opened up registration on its website for the county’s latest mass vax clinic shortly after 8 a.m. But rather than being snatched up in a matter of minutes, the vaccine time slots remained open for several hours. But the availability of those appointment times isn’t due to a decrease in demand for the vaccine, said Rae Ann Tucker, director of health promotions for the HSCHD.
