Team Dunstone takes unique measures to prep for 2021 Brier

REGINA
Curling, much like other parts of life, has been turned upside-down by COVID-19. The challenge was no match for Saskatchewan’s Team Dunstone, who met the new requirements head-on and wasted little time getting down to work.
“At this point in the season we’ve usually got 60 to 70 games under our belt and this year we have 10 or 11,” Team Saskatchewan’s Braeden Moskowy explained.
When the foursome from Regina found out they’d be representing Saskatchewan at the 2021 Brier – a decision made by CurlSask – they weren’t allowed to practice as a group.
“Once we got approval from the government to start practicing because we’re going to the Brier we started looking for options,” Moskowy said. ....

Callie, Highland curling clubs cancel remainder of season

Regina / 980 CJME
Jan 19, 2021 2:44 PM
The two curling clubs in Regina have decided to put away the rocks for the rest of the season.
On Friday, the Highland Curling Club announced it was going to cease operations until the fall 2021 season. On Monday, the Callie reached the same conclusion, alerting players it was cancelling the rest of the season.
“The latest health restriction extension put in place by the government has forced us to be financially responsible and make the difficult decision to cease operations for the remainder of this season. The rink did everything possible to try and make it through until the end of this season and unfortunately, we weren’t able to do so,” the Highland’s Facebook post read. ....
