Honda Australia has quietly expanded its recall of
54,300 vehicles built from 2018 to 2021 now affected by a faulty fuel pump.
The recall notice was first issued in July 2020, covering 22,366 vehicles stamped either Model Year 2018 or 2019 – however this has quietly been extended to a total of 54,300 vehicles, branded as
Model Years 2018 to 2021, and
available for sale between 26 July 2018 and 12 March 2021.
Lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, the notice says: Due to an improper manufacturing process, a component within the fuel pump could swell causing the fuel pump to become inoperative. If the fuel pump stops working, this could stop the engine from starting or stall the engine while driving. This may increase the risk of an accident and may result in serious injury to vehicle occupants and/or other road users, it continues.

Honda Australia switched over to an agency business model from 1 July 2021, bringing with it
fixed prices for its entire model line-up.
Buyers walking into one of 90 Honda Centres around the country (down from 105 dealers previously) will no longer be able to negotiate on the price of their Honda vehicle, and instead will pay a
fixed drive-away price applicable across all locations nationwide.
Included in the drive-away prices are all on-road costs and dealer delivery charges, plus metallic or pearlescent paint (if optioned by the customer), a
five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty (if used for non-commercial purposes), and a five-year premium roadside assistance program.
