Hanover Area High School will not have this yearâs graduation ceremony at PNC Field in Moosic or at the Garden Drive-In movie theater in Hunlock Twp., Hanover Area School District Superintendent Nathan Barrett said at Tuesdayâs school board meeting. Barrett said he will announce the graduation plan at a special virtual meeting next week on the Zoom platform. Next weekâs Zoom meeting will be at 6 p.m. April 21. Hanover Areaâs traditional graduation ceremony was nixed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. HANOVER TWP. â Nearly 200 people who didnât expect to get a COVID-19 vaccine on Monday got one at Hanover Area High School â and it was due to yet another scheduling snafu with a series of clinics hosted at the school. The state Department of Health failed to notify patients about available appointments, leaving about 200 openings as of early Monday morning, according to district Superintendent Nathan Barrett. Barrett sent messages out to district parents and notified the media about the sudden, unannounced openings for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine administered by Walmart.
