Woman sues DHHR for sexual harassment, abuse by employee


Phillip Bryant was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Lisa Daniels because the foster parent for her infant grandson and had various interactions with the DHHR regarding her grandchildren, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Daniels claims in July 2020, Bryant made two home visits to her residence and on those visits, he made unwelcome sexual advances. On his second visit, the sexual harassment escalated to sexual abuse in the first degree when he made sexual contact with Daniels without her consent.
Despite reports being made about Bryant s behavior, he continued his attempts to contact the plaintiff and advised her that he was aware of the complaints she made, according to the suit. ....

CHARLESTON Two women say First Choice Services violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act when it fired them.
Chardae Davis and Lee Ann Wilkerson are Black women who were employed by First Choice between 2015 and 2019 and claim during their employment they were subjected to unwelcome sexually and racially hostile comments and advances by First Choice CEO Scott Jarrett, according to two complaints filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Davis and Wilkerson allege that Jarrett repeatedly asked the plaintiffs about having sexual relations with White men that they construed as invitations for them to have sexual relations with Harrett. The plaintiffs claim they repeatedly made it known to Jarrett that his advances were unwelcome. ....
