Detailed description is The SRG is a PhD student-run research group which brings together research interests in the very wide field of Security Studies.. . Twitter: @AberSRG. Blog: www.abersrg.wordpress.com. The Security Research Group (SRG) is a student-run research group at the Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University. The aim of the group is to provide an integrating platform where academic interests and disciplines related to the study of security can be fruitfully brought together. Areas of interest include health security, environmental security, human security, national security, securitization theory, intelligence studies, strategic studies, critical security studies, post-structural approaches to security, terrorism and critical terrorism studies, gender, feminist and queer studies and post-colonial approaches to security.. . The SRG carries out several activities with the objective of developing a vibrant and broad engagement with the study of security, and welcomes the participation of both students and staff in doing so. The SRG also aims to promote relations with other research groups, research centres, departments and institutions in order to advance multi-disciplinary approaches to the study of security. This year’s SRG events include: a guest lecture series on a variety of topics related to security, informal paper presentations by post-graduate students and members of staff, round-table discussions on theories and methodologies of studying security, and inter-disciplinary workshops.
