Detailed description is The D+BAofLI is a volunteer-driven group uniting home trade professionals for networking & charity The Designers + Builders Alliance of Long Island (D+BAofLI) is an innovative 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization made up of a passionate and diverse group of Founding design-industry professionals. Founded in 2013, we embark on this ambitious endeavor to develop our “Alliance” into an organization with a powerful voice as the only multi-disciplinary group on Long Island uniting all of the home trades.. . On September 20, 2014, the D+BAofLI will host our maiden signature event, HOMES OF DISTINCTION TOUR, as a self-guided tour into a handful of private residences. Recognizing the near-obsession of home-design enthusiasts who will love nothing more than a chance to view real homes, the Tour is sure to be a major success. The D+BAofLI hopes to mount 3 tours a year thereafter.. . The September Tour will benefit Tuesday’s Children, a charity founded to promote long-term healing to those local families directly impacted by the events of September 11th. Today Tuesday’s Children has branched out to support communities affected by acts of terror worldwide. . . Ultimately, the D+BAofLI will expand to include what we anticipate will be a robust membership with upscale, light-hearted, networking events. Our goal is to bring together contractors, architects, builders, interior designers and other residential professionals while supporting a wide variety of worthy causes. We have already created the D+BAofLI Scholarship Fund supporting Old Westbury campus of New York Institute of Technology students’ summer training abroad..
