Are some people simply born ready to work at Vogue? A few. They've known "Oscar" (de la Renta) since birth, they spent summers in college assisting (photographer) Bruce Weber, and oh "Mark and James" (Badgely Mischka) just insisted on making their wedding dress.. . Instead, the transformation took place in the form of a very public and painful initiation into Vogue as state of mind and physical being. We learned to confront difficulty and rebound with resilience. In the end, Vogue's survivors learned that style is always personal and polished, being super smart is cool, and that aspiring to the highest levels of organized is only everything.. . Having once survived Vogue as-boot-camp, I see myself as a beneficiary of a formal education, and one that packaged executive functioning with social polishing.
