I got my first Australian Shepherd about the time I finished high school and I have had Aussies ever since.
I love the Australian Shepherd breed, but the more I learned about the breed, the more I saw that the things I loved about Aussies were slowly being lost.
I was never really interested in breeding dogs; I just wanted to own a good one, but that’s why I began to breed Aussies.
I felt like the breed was going in the wrong direction; away from the breed standard, away from what makes the Australian Shepherd so great and I wanted to help preserve the true Aussie.

I know that there are many disciplines that Australian Shepherds excel in, but it is the conformation and characteristics of the working type Aussie that helps them to be great at so many things.
I feel that many breeders have moved away from what the Australian Shepherd really is and that they are breeding to produce dogs with characteristics that are desired in the show ring or as pets instead of stockdogs.
With this type of breeding, the conformation and instincts of the working type Aussie are being lost.

My goal in breeding Australian Shepherds is to produce a dog with the conformation that gives him the stamina to work all day and the great agility it takes to move around livestock, the intelligence to learn from very minimal training, the instincts to understand livestock, the discipline to take direction but the ability to think and act on his own, and the loyalty and a willingness to please so that he pushes himself to the limits for you.
