Detailed description is Based out of Hinton, Alberta, the Lazy VU outfit offers pack trips into the Willmore Wilderness area north of Banff and Jasper National Parks. Packtrips range in length from four days to two weeks or longer. Whether you are traveling alone or in a group, a place can be found for you. Over night pack trips take you into this mountain world, allowing you to experience its uniqueness while still providing basic comforts. Base camp is completely portable. Home becomes where the camp (and the cook) are.Pack trips are "all inclusive". . . The Lazy VU provides all of the meals, a sleeping tent for accommodations, a cook tent for dining in, and of course, all of the horses and gear you will need for your adventure. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and other personal gear.. . . A guide travels with the guests while the rest of the crew and all of the pack horses go ahead to set up camp. This way, trail rides can be made at a leisurely pace, with plenty of time for lunch and picture taking. Rides average in length from 4 to 6 hours. . Meals are cooked on a wood stove that is packed in by horse. No worries that grub may be in short supply.. Full course meals complete with salad and fresh baking make it unlikely that anyone will go hungry. Pies, cakes, cookies, and fresh bread are just some of the wonders that turn out surprisingly well on a wood stove. . . A sack lunch is provided for move days, with the occasional"smoky" roast thrown in for something different. Fresh buns for supper cooked on the wood stove.. . Streams of the Wilmore are known for their Dolly Varden. A catch and release regulation makes the eating of these fish out of the question, but it doesn't stop the fun of catching them. Other fish such as Whitefish can be thrown in the pan and cooked up for supper.. .
