Detailed description is 34Years teaching excellence in dance & acrobatics/gymnastics, beginner through adult, life member of Dance Educators, Registered teacher of Royal Academy Lori Portman-Lewis is the owner and director of SheLor School of Dance for 32 years. . She is a life-time member and certified with Dance Educators of America, a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), has advanced certifications in Tap through Fred Astaire Performing Arts along with Pilates certification with Power House Pilates and Physical Mind Institute. She has continued her studies in dance education with renown professionals and as an RAD registered teacher is required to continue education annually. . Her emphasis with SheLor has always been….dance education of students is not and should not be limited to only the student of excellence. “Dance can be a wonderful source of accomplishment and enjoyment; therefore SheLor’s goal is to nurture every student in the art of dance”. For 32 yrs. students have not only learned dance but they have grown emotionally and physically by the discipline that dance training offers and requires. Miss Lori strongly believes DANCE can prepare our youth for life’s challenges whether they pursue dance as a career or as a recreation to enrich themselves. SheLor has had ballet certification and competition as a forefront and integral part of dance training of students and believes ballet is the foundation of dance training. . SheLor offers all dance styles along with acrobatics & gymnastics from Recreational levels through Competitive levels and a Certified Ballet syllabus (RAD) which students can be examined.
