Detailed description is GRAPCEP is a college preparatory program focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. GRAPCEP operates as a Biomedical and Engineering School with an emphasis on college preparation and career awareness. Students experience a rigorous curriculum meant to cultivate their interests in Engineering and Biomedicine, as well as prepare them for college study and careers in these areas. Students also participate in summer workshops and camps, test preparation, paid summer internships, experiential learning activities, college and career awareness trips, and specialized tutoring and study groups. Professionalism and academic achievement are emphasized in the school culture. It is located behind Creston High School.. . Quick Facts:. . *GRAPCEP primarily serves students in the Grand Raids Public School District area, most of whom are from low-income families, greater than 70%, and are ethnic minorities, greater than 80%.. . *GRAPCEP students, at all grade levels, have higher GPA's than other students in their grade level in the Grand Raids Public School District.. . *GRAPCEP has a 99% high school graduation rate.. . *99% of GRAPCEP students who have continued to reply to our inquiries (77 % of the total of high school graduates) are enrolled in college or have graduated from college.. . *56 % of GRAPCEP students who enroll in college are enrolled in a science, technology, engineering or math related field of study, as compared to 20% of the general population of college students.. . *GRAPCEP supports its high school students throughout high school, college, and 2 years into employment or graduate school--GRAPCEP has a long-term commitment to the students in the GRAPCEP Engineering & Biomedical High School.. . *GRAPCEP students participate in meticulously planned GRAPCEP activities.
