Detailed description is Timber Frame construction and other neat stuff I started in construction in 1987. Back then I could identify the pointy end of a nail and probably nothing else. . . Over 30 years I've seen and done a lot. My niche for a long time was high end finish work. Then, in 2000 I helped a friend build a post and beam barn and I was hooked!. . I love everything about it. I love the fact that we use wooden pegs to hold it together. I love the act of laying out and cutting the joinery. I love the fact that it's one of the oldest construction methods on Earth and i LOVE the reactions of my clients and their friends and family when it starts coming together!. . You can build a barn or garage using traditional stick framing but no one will ever tell you they think it's cool.. . It's like owning a watch. No one will every say, "Hey, nice Timex!" Wear a Rolex and people notice..."Nice Rolex!". . The price difference between stick framing and timber framing is not as far apart as a Timex is to a Rolex but the reaction of everybody who owns or even just encounters a timber frame building is worth every penny.
