What is the purpose of this study?. To understand how the connections between different brain regions grow and develop in adolescents and factors that affect those connections.. . What will occur during the study?. There will be 3 visits to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and 4 follow-up phone calls over a 3-year period. The study includes an MRI scan at 2 visits, a blood draw and urine drug screen at 3 visits, completion of various neuropsychological tests and personality questionnaires.. . Who is eligible?. Teens (aged 12-17) with a relative diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective or schizophreniform disorder.. . Will I be paid for participating?. Participants are paid $585 over the 3-year period as visits and follow-up phone calls are completed. All participants traveling from out of town will be compensated for mileage.
