Michael has a passion for leading God’s people in worship and also bringing music that is relevant and engaging.
Michael has been serving as worship pastor at CrossRoads Church of Fort Worth since February 2013.
He was married to Jessica in 2010 and they have two daughters: Kimberly, who was born in March of 2012, and Elizabeth who was born in August of 2014.
(and a son on the way) Michael and his wife moved to DFW so Michael could pursue a bachelors in music composition from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

“I have come to the realization that God has gifted me to help people understand worship and be equipped to serve the church in worship ministry.
After consulting with my pastor and praying about it a great deal, I started a worship training program as part of my ministry at our church.
As part of this program I teach private music lessons, and also lead a student band program.
During the lessons, and during band, I not only teach the musical aspects, but spend a great deal of the time teaching why we worship, and what is so important about worship.
I am blown away by the fact that we can come before a holy God and sing His praises.
I am striving to communicate to the students why it is such an honor, responsibility, and privilege to not just to worship, but to lead God’s people in worship.
This is something that to my knowledge is unique to this program.

The future of our church is in the hands of our children and teenagers, and I believe that the lack of a healthy and accurate understanding of worship’s role and importance in the church and in our individual lives is one of the reasons we are seeing young people disengage from the church as they enter into adulthood.
Because this is so important, we want this opportunity to be available to everyone.
As a result, the lessons and band were initially provided absolutely free for students who were actively involved with either the student worship band, the worship program at their own church, or were working toward this goal.
we have recently switched to charging tuition so that the program may continue, however, band is still free for enrolled students, and we offer various discounts and encourage students who are wanting to pursue worship ministry, but may not be able to afford it to seek out scholarships from their church family”.

Guitar (acoustic and electric).
Piano/keyboard.
Bass.
Drums.
Vocals.
Music Theory.
Song writing.
