Detailed description is The Davis & Elkins Appalachian Ensemble is a student performance group that presents traditional music and dance from the Appalachian region and beyond. The Davis & Elkins Appalachian Ensemble presents traditional music and dance from the Appalachian region and beyond, focusing on the intersections of different American Vernacular forms and their roots, ranging from old time music and flatfooting to jazz music and tap dance, to Irish sean nós dance and numerous traditional American styles of harmony singing. . . The Appalachian Ensemble brings top-notch live music and dance to audiences in WV and beyond. Appalachian Ensemble was named the “People’s Choice for Entertainment” for its performance at the 2013 Ramps and Rails Festival in Elkins, was part of a US State Department Tour, was featured in a recent edition of Goldenseal, the magazine of West Virginia traditional life produced by the Division of Culture and History and has performed on Mountain Stage. . .
