Detailed description is Joe Hillyer is a conductor, composer and orchestrator studying an MA in Film and TV Music Composition at the University of Bristol. Please enquire within. Joe Hillyer is a British-born conductor, composer and arranger who studied his undergraduate BMus at Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent, South-East England, graduating with a 1st in conducting and orchestration. Currently studying his MA in Composition in Music for Film and Television at the University of Bristol, Joe is available for commissions, instrumental tuition and performance on tuba, timpani and piano.. . Joe comes from a brass-band background and has performed with some of the leading brass bands in the UK including the Hepworth Band, Marsden Silver Prize Band and the 2016 Grand Shield winner, Rothwell Temperance Band, currenty ranked in the world's top-20 bands. . Having studied with the late Master of the Queen's Music, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies CH CBE, leading composer Paul Patterson, and Professor Paul Max Edlin, Joe is currently a freelance composer and applying to study for a Masters in Composition and Conducting at the University of Cardiff in 2017.. . Most recently working in the brass-band movement, Joe has had the honour to work alongside musicians of the Black Dyke Mills band, the Brighouse and Rastrick Band as well as the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band, the band who featured on the 1996 BAFTA-nominated film "Brassed Off" starring Ewan McGregor
