First, we require that a village has shown deep commitment to education. We view our job as helping those who have already begun the hard work of helping themselves. If there has been visible and measurable progress made by the villagers and they request our assistance, we then work with them to identify the needs of the school and to assess the commitment of the entire village to care for the school after our work is finished. The projects are funded through donations. These projects are broken into two categories, Micro Projects and Major Projects.. . Micro Projects. . Single investments of less than $10k to serve an immediate need. These micro projects can range from uniforms, to books, to desks, and even electricity for a village like The Chandauli Tutoring Center.. . Major Projects. . Investments over $10k. These can include construction of a new school, student housing, or even the purchase of a school bus like the Patna School Bus Project.. . Our Strategy:. .
