Detailed description is Our mission is to enrich the lives of seniors, veterans, disabled and youth through free fishing and boating activities that build relationships and create memories. Pontoon Abilities Inc. is a charitable organization, in Menomonie WI.. . The purpose of Pontoon Abilities is to provide free recreational boating for people with physical disabilities and special needs. We offer FREE chartered boat rides as well as fishing excursions. Boat rides can be 1-2 hours depending on the needs of your group.. . We also offer the FREE use of our boat to non-profit groups to help them meet their mission statements.. . We have a wheelchair accessible pontoon boat, 25 feet long, with a 2300lb load capacity. It is powered by a 2008 60 HP Mercury EFI 4 Stroke outboard. The boat has space for 4 wheelchairs at once along with extra seating for friends and family. The wheelchair ramp reaches the docks at public boat ramps on Lake Tainter and Lake Menomin.. . Clients can reserve the boat on our Forms page. There is a 2 week notice required to use the boat. The Reservation Form must be filled out completely and submitted via email or US Mail. Reservations are only available on days designated on our website calendar. The 2 week notice begins once the reservation form is received by Pontoon Abilities staff.. . All of our boat captains have at least 5 years of boating experience each and had to qualify their driving abilities in an on-the-water driving test.
