Nepal is considered one of the poorest and least developed countries in the word. The estimated income for a person living in the rural areas (85% of the population) is less than $500 a year, with an unemployment rate of 47%. According to the Nepal Living Standards Survey 2003/04, about 31% of the population still lives below the poverty line, and only 54% of the population can read and write.. . Despite the great needs in the world today, it has become more and more difficult to raise money for aid work. On the one hand there is an economy crisis in both America and in Europe (so there is less money available than before), and on the other hand there are more and more good projects that wants our money (so the competition is high). Because of this, there has become a need for aid workers on the field to think differently.. . Therefore we aim to build a traditionally looking Nepali guesthouse with European standards. 75% of the income will go directly to help people in the Himalaya regions, while 25% of the income will be invested in other income generation projects to make sure the vision can grow, and that we always will have enough funds to help those in need.. .
