Detailed description is Creative minds that will re-imagine ways to connect communities through ambitious and bold design. Nombreuses idées innovatrices par nos étudiants. The School of Architecture offers a four-year pre-professional Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS), followed by a two-year Master of Architecture degree. Situated in the Canadian north, the School’s focus is on designing with wood as well as having an integrated co-operative program where students obtain practical experience through work-term placements in industry and in architecture offices. Francophone, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit student experience is central to the unique tri-cultural mandate of the program. The architecture program is delivered in English, with French language options for design studios, elective courses, and co-operative placements. Through Elders in residence, Indigenous faculty members, French design studio instruction, and local community-design and design-build exercises each year, students are exposed to an array of methods, knowledge, and experience that is uniquely ‘Northern’ and regional.
