Detailed description is The Osseo Rural Fire Department serves the people of Trempealeau, Jackson and Eau Claire Counties in Western Wisconsin The Osseo Rural Fire Department, under the direction of Chief Nels Gunderson and Assistant Chiefs, Gary Anderson, John Haugen, and Mike Hallum, is a very active fire department.
There are 46 firefighters and 1st Responders, while the Fire Department averages 100 calls per year, the 1st Responder’s average 300.

The Osseo Rural Fire Department is located in the Northeast corner of Trempealeau County, in West-Central Wisconsin; our district is comprised of 128 square miles.
In addition to the City of Osseo, we provide protection to 5 rural townships in 3 counties, and provide assistance to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for wildland fire suppression.
Part of the Wisconsin DNR targeted Intensive Forest Fire Protection District lies within our response area.
Additionally, we have Mutual Aid agreements with 21 surrounding fire departments.
Our district includes a population of approximately 4000 people.
The Osseo Fire District encompasses approximately (15) miles of Interstate I-94, (14) miles of US Highway 10, and (13) miles of US Highway 53..

Annually the Osseo Rural Fire Department holds (3) fundraisers per year, Chicken Fest in April, Fire Department Open House in October, and our Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast in June.
2013 marks the 26th Annual Chicken Fest, 15th Annual Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast, and 3rd Annual Open House.
Our Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast is held in association with Osseo Lake Martha Days, our town’s annual celebration.
