Detailed description is The Physical Activity and Public Health Lab (PAPHL) provides undergraduate students first-hand knowledge about the development, evaluation and dissemination of physical activity programs designed to promote public health. The focus of the PAPHL is on the prevention and treatment of chronic conditions through lifestyle changes such as increasing physical activity and improved diets. Efforts in the PAPHL focus on theory-based approaches to increasing adoption and adherence of physical activity among adults of all ages with interest in adapting programs to meet the needs of underserved groups. Dr. Gerald Jerome is an Associate Professor in Exercise Science at Towson University and the director of the PAPHL. He is committed to developing opportunities for undergraduate students to gain a better understanding of theory based approaches to promoting physical activity in order to improve mental and physical health.
