It is part of the West Contra Costa Unified School District .Richmond High School has a Robotic Team that is 841 named Biomechs.Alumni and post-high school educationMany students choose to attend a community college with intentions of transferring to a four-year university. However, there are programs that are dedicated to helping Richmond High School students get accepted to four-year universities. One such program is College Is Real, a program that provides academic counseling, tutoring, mentoring, motivation, accountability and resources to students. It has grown from its initial 16 members in 2005 to 130 or more members each year plus more than 100 college attendees.Student demographicsAccording to Richmond High's School Accountability Report Card, which is required to be published annually, the school has a predominantly Hispanic or Latino student base, accounting for 76.43% of its total enrollment. Students choose an academy based on their interests, and are provided with integrated curriculum project-based learning opportunities, career technical elective classes, teachers with a common preparation period, internships, and mentors.
