Detailed description is Sigma Phi Epsilon's Utah Beta chapter at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City has been developing Balanced Men since 1950. Sigma Phi Epsilon strives to create balanced men to empower them to become leaders for tomorrow's community. By using the three cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love, SigEp has been building balanced men at the University of Utah since 1950.. . Around 15,000 SigEp undergraduates are on 240 college campuses each year. They are among more than 305,000 lifetime brothers who have joined since 1901.. . SigEp revolutionized the fraternity movement in 1991 by unveiling the Balanced Man Program (BMP), a concept of single-tiered membership and continuous development that begins the day a brother joins. SigEp believes the stereotypical fraternity experience does not fulfill the needs of today’s college male. The BMP offers an experience focused on scholarship, leadership, professional development and life skills.
