SOLACE: Surviving Our Loss and Continuing Everyday is a 501c3 Non-Profit foundation providing Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) facility providing evidence-based counseling to help individuals fight to win the disease of addiction. . . Solace started as a grass roots project. Originally, a grief support group to families who have suffered a loss of a child or loved one to the disease of addiction. This passionate group of women traveled the country seeking out ways to prevent the loss and rise up to fight the Ohio Opioid Eidemic and by doing so creating chapters of SOLACE throughout the great State of Ohio. . . This group of individuals through Ohio formed the G.A.P Network formally the SOLACE Network. What is now known as the G.A.P. . . • Moving from Grief to Action for Prevention...supporting individuals, providing a voice for families, mobilizing communities. . . The G.A.P. Network of advocacy groups and individuals formed in response to a public outcry against prescription medication abuse and the heroin eidemic. Our members are family engagement advocacy groups and individuals who provide a voice for the thousands of Ohio individuals and families impacted by substance use - especially the heroin/opiate eidemic.. . Marching, picketing, and speaking out against the local pill mills and urging officials to pass the House Bill 93. In response to the prescription drug abuse eidemic in our state, on May 20, 2011, Ohio passed House Bill 93. The new law governed the treatment of pain and chronic pain in an effort to fight prescription drug abuse in the State of Ohio.. . SOLACE Treatment facility became a certified treatment facility in April of 2015. Since then we have grown exponentially and continue to educate ourselves on the evidence-based studies to effectively stand on the front lines of this disease. SOLACE is very different from most facilities as we possess the only High Complexity Medical Laboratory and how we utilize this laboratory is a huge key to the program.. .
