The primary objective of South Asian Association of Maine (SAAM) is to promote interest and understanding of South Asian cultures and provide occasions for friendship and cultural interaction among members and with the community at large. Our members participate in various events across the University of Maine campus, including in-class guest participation, university events like Culture fest and brown-bag cultural discussions. South Asian Association of Maine (SAAM) members have a tradition of actively involving themselves in such events as an opportunity to enlighten the university community on the richness and diversity of their cultures.. .
