(Mailing address :) c/o Mike Bourgeois phone: 985-518-3455. 202 Jones St., Berwick, La. 70342 Home: 985-384-8935. 2. Location: 6.5 miles North of Dry Prong, La. along Hwy 122 in Grant Parish. (Address - 205 Richardson Loop Road, Dry Prong, La. 71423). 3. Club Board: Club governed by directors: . Mike Bourgeois President, Secretary & Treasurer phone: 985-518-3455. The Club Directors are responsible for rule making and rule enforcement.. The philosophy of decision making is to have rules and guidelines that provide an equal opportunity to the individual member. Other words each individual member shall have the same opportunity as any other member. . Members are encouraged to submit recommendations, suggestions and complaints to a Director. To insure your input is addressed by the Club Board it is suggested you submit your input in writing. Emails, to the directors are an excellent tool.. Annually the board shall meet and address any recommendations, suggestions, concerns or complaints and hold a vote on items requiring such.. The results of the outcome shall be communicated to the club as a whole.. 4. Type of Hunting Lease: Open lease, no private spots, a sign in, pin out system on a First Come, First Serve bases. Each member is expected to be respectful and courteous to other members.. 5. Game: (i) primary - deer, (ii) secondary - small game, bird and water fowl. Secondary game activity should not interfere with a deer hunter. . 6. Rules / Regulations: Club rules, Roy O. Martin rules and LDWF regulations:. 7. Membership Number: Will maintain an adequate number of members in order to keep cost reasonable / affordable. Currently have 20 members.. 8. Membership Fee: $1,300.00. . a. Deposit: A good faith reservation deposit (part of annual membership fee) in the amount of $500.00 is due by March 15th of each year. The club will begin seeking replacement for any member(s) who fail to put up a good faith reservation deposit by this day. (Deposits are non-refundable). A member(s) who fail to pay a reservation deposit is advised to remove all personal items, camper, stands etc. off of lease by April 15th.. b. Fees Due Date: Full Membership Fees are due and payable no later than May 1st of each year. On May 2nd club will begin replacing any member(s) who has not fully paid their annual membership fee. (A leaving member’s dues are non-refundable if an acceptable replacement cannot be found). c. New member acceptance: Current member’s children and/or grandchildren applying will be considered before anyone else. However, the first acceptable person with funds to pay membership fee will be admitted to replace a member(s) should there not be a request from a current member’s child or grandchild. If more than one membership is to be replaced, replacement will be via a drawing as a new member is found until all memberships have been replaced.. d. Annual membership fees include: . 1. Pro-rata portion of land lease with Roy O. Martin Timber Co. which consist of 2,176 acres.. 2. Estimated annual utility cost. 3. Estimated annual food plot cost; seed, fertilizer, tractor/dozer cost. . . 9. Membership Rights: each member is allowed: . i. One second gun, which must be a dependent (which could be spouse, school age, (not college) child or grandchild). A second gun dependent of legal age is allowed on lease alone. However, a second gun dependent under legal age must be either accompanied by the member or sponsored by and under the supervision of a current member. The maximum number of hunters per a membership allowed at any one time is three. (1) the member, (2) the second gun and (3) a guest.. ii. One guest at a time. Member must be present for guest to hunt. Member bears all responsibility for guest. Member is responsible to orientate guest to rules, regulations, etc.. 10. Camp Site: Currently have 12 developed camp sites available on a first come bases. Additional sites may be developed as per need with prior board approval.. 11. Hunting Area: Hunting spots are chosen on a first come first serve basis via a pin out system. . 12. Pin out system: first to pin out has first choice of the pinned out area. No duration on pin out, but must hunt. Failure to make a hunt frees up the pinned out area. Guest shall wait to pin out after all present paying members. . 13. Food Plots: Provided by and maintained by the club members. The club’s goal is to establish 30 Food Plots with Club Stands. Please report to the board any spot you think the club should place either a stand and/or food plot. . 14. Club-Stands: The club provides a number of stands, (Box and Ladder type). These stands are maintained and updated by the club when there are available funds and man power to do so. Should any member wish to furnish either a box or ladder stand he is welcomed to do so. All box stands are considered club stands and shall be open to all members.. If you are planning to bring a guest or have a second gun you should furnish an additional stand. Additional stands (including ladder stands and other box stands) belong to the member should he leave. . 15. Definitions:. i. Private – If it is accessible, available and operational by a member it is not private.. ii. Personal – not owned by club, owned by an individual. Should a member place any personal item on the lease (camera, feeder, stand, etc.) the member does so at his/her own volition. See “Private” above. All members are expected to exercise honesty and integrity.. These definitions are included to stifle the idea of private spots, territorial claims and complaints. Other words maintain the concept and integrity of an open-lease. . 16. Guest days: Ten guest days per season per membership. No one guest may hunt more than seven days per hunting season. . 17. Harvest: each member will be allowed:. a. 3 buck limit, (state rule). Bucks must be 3 point or greater, (ROM rule). A point is one inch or longer (ROM rule).. b. 3 doe limit, (state rule). Button bucks are counted as doe, (state rule). . A guest’s kill shall be counted towards the inviting member’s limit.. 18. Illegal Harvest: Illegal harvest is defined as one which does not fall under the category of either 17 “a” or 17 “b” above. An illegal harvest carries a fine of $100.00 to be paid before the next hunt. A member is responsible for an illegal harvest of his guest.. 19. Private Food Plot: No such thing as a private food plot. Any member can develop a food plot should he choose but the area is open to other members. Remember this is an open lease on a first come first serve, first to pin out system.. 20. Stands-Other: Members may also use personal stands such as tree climbers, ladder stands or ground blinds. Please review item number 4 above. All box stands are considered club stands and shall be open to all members.. If a member places any type of stand on the lease the area is still opened to other members. Other member(s) are free to place a stand in the same area as well. This is to keep with the open lease concept and to afford each member an equal opportunity.. 21. Feeders – Allowed only on club established and club maintained food plot areas. Feeders are to be placed where they can be viewed from the club stand.. 22. Record Keeping: Timber Company, ROM, has the following record keeping requirements: . a. Deer Harvest Data Sheet: Must record kill on ROM deer harvest data sheet.. b. Lease Activity: Must sign in on the club’s Activity Record Log Sheet whenever you visit the lease. All guest must sign in as well. This is a timber company rule.. 23. Work days: each member will be responsible to uphold a certain amount of lease maintenance & fulfill a certain number of work days. . 24. Alcohol, Drugs, Illegal Substances: . a. No consumption of alcohol and hunting at the same time. . b. No Illegal Drugs, nor Illegal Substances of any kind or nature will be allowed. If discovered, member(s) shall be expelled and/or authorities notified.. 25. Firearms: no loaded firearms within camp area. Side arm carriers, once entering camp area remove firearm and place in either your camper or vehicle. . 26. Joy Riding – Joy riding during hunting season to be confined to main roads only. No joy riding on hunting trails or through food plot areas. Joy riding is recommended between the hours of 10 a.m. and before 3 p.m. Any riding should be of a courteous manner and not interfere with a deer hunter. Going to/from a hunt at a reasonable time is acceptable.. 27. Youth Hunting – A youth who has not satisfactorily completed the Hunter’s Education course and obtained certification is prohibited from hunting along. Youth must hunt with and be accompanied by a licensed member or licensed invited guest of legal age. “Accompanied by” means member or invited guest must be in immediate vicinity controlling the hunting situation at all times. . 28. Penalties: The penalties for breaking any of the above rules will be as follows:. a. First Offense - Written warning. b. Second Offense - $100 fine. c. Third Offense - Immediate termination of hunting privileges. 29. Invitational Club Privileges – Each member will recognize the fact that he or she was invited to join. Trouble making and rule breaking will not be tolerated. If any member engages in unwanted activity, he or she will not be invited back the following year. Members need to also be fully aware that they are responsible for the actions of their guest as well.. 30.
