Whether you are an avid outdoorsman or have no experience at all, bowfishing is a sport that all ages will love. Bowfishing combines the best of both worlds of hunting and fishing by providing non-stop heart-pounding action by merging the skill of archery with the thrill of fishing. We use a compound bow with specially designed bowfishing reels and line. The fish is shot with the arrow and then reeled in with the reel. Simply put, bowfishing is fishing with a bow and arrow!. . The evening begins with a breathtaking ride on our airboat through the Louisiana marsh, which will captivate the heart of any nature lover and is in itself an experience to remember. As night befalls and we stop the boat and turn on the halogen deck lights, the mystique of the marsh comes alive with life. Fish appear everywhere in the surrounding waters and the fun is about to begin.. . We’ll give you a short lesson on the techniques used to shoot the fish and then the action begins as there will be no shortage of shooting. The deckhand will hand you your drinks, take of fish and anything else you need so you can focus on shooting. An average night is usually 20-30 fish consisting of redfish, sheepshead, drum and occasionally flounder, and that’s not counting a whole lot of misses!!. . We generally fish the Port Sulphur Marsh in Plaquemines Parish where we will meet up at a local grocery store. We supply everything you will need for the trip. Just bring your drinks, snacks, and an ice chest for the fish.. . We generally fish up to 6 people per boat so this is the perfect small group or family outing as multiple boats are available for larger groups such as bachelor parties and other group events. Its perfect for group outings because unlike other forms of fishing and hunting there is no need to be quiet so it has an advantage in that aspect of you being able to enjoy each other’s company while at the same time take in a lot of action.. .
