Detailed description is In 1905, a group of people feeling the need for a Christian church in the town of Bucklin, KS met under the leadership of William F. Elland and organized the Bucklin Christian Church. In time the church would receive its charter from the state, build a new building, and begin its ministry in Bucklin. Through the years the church would change as the town's population changed, saw a new building built on the current site, withstood tornadoes, and loved the people of Bucklin.. . In 2006, the church celebrated its Centennial celebration of 100 years of ministry in Bucklin, KS (The current building will be 100 years old in 2017). Though many things have changed through those 100 years, the desire to serve God in southwest Kansas has stayed constant. . During its life, the church has been served by 44 pastors, including our current pastor, Scott Tilley. It has seen a congregation size of around 10 all the way up to around 200.. . There have been many trials, storms, good and hard times, divisions, financial burdens, and struggles over the past 100 years; and through it all God has been in control. There have been times when the church considered closing its doors and times when we were healthy as can be. There have been changes in style of music, order of service, changes in leadership, and what time we meet. Through it all God has been good and has blessed our church.
