Detailed description is A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is appointed by the Juvenile Court to ensure the needs and interests of abused/neglected children are being met. During the period of July 2013 to June 2014, the AR Department of Human Services and Law Enforcement investigated 32,928 reports of child abuse and neglect. There were 9,675 victim children involved in the maltreatment investigations that were found true. 266 children experienced foster care in our district in July 2013 to June 2014; 94 in Logan County; 112 in Conway, 55 in Yell , and 65 in Scott. . This year, about 900 dedicated Arkansas CASA volunteers attempted to serve the thousands of abused and neglected children of our state. . CASA of the Tri-Peaks, 15th Judicial District, a member of the National CASA Association and the Arkansas CASA Association, currently serves children in Logan, Scott, Yell and Conway Counties. Our eventual goal is to provide an advocate for every abused and neglected child in our district. So, we need an army of volunteers! . Logan County currently has 11 trained advocates, Scott has 5, Yell has 8 and Conway County has 6 trained advocates. Do the math… this is simply not enough. These blameless children desperately need your help.
