Detailed description is DCSD Director and Secretary. Mother of two DCSD graduates, volunteer, child advocate, attorney. Dedicated to helping DCSD provide quality education that meets the needs of all students. My husband and I have been fortunate to be a part of this community for the past 17 years. We are grateful for the excellent educational experiences both our sons were provided at the schools they attended in Douglas County School District. Both their journeys began at Pine Grove Elementary School and both graduated from Chaparral High School, each attending different DCSD schools in between to meet their unique needs. . . The majority of my life has been dedicated to advocating for the needs of children, whether they be my own or someone else's. My professional career has been spent looking out for the best interests of children in cases of abuse and neglect. I was also fortunate to take some time off while raising our children, and used this time to volunteer in their classrooms and at their schools, whether that be on the School Accountability Committee or a booster club for one of their activities. . . My experiences have given me the knowledge, skill, and ability to make good decisions for our students; and I believe that every student deserves what my own children have received: to have their educational needs recognized and to be provided educational opportunities that will help them fulfill their potential. Our community's thoughtful allocation of resources to find solutions for our students is the most important investment we can make, and I know we can do better for our children. . .
