Detailed description is We are a certified organic orchard growing peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, prunes, persimmons, pomegranates, oranges, lemons, blackberries and more! Twin Peaks Orchard, an 100 acre farm, began nearly a century ago in 1912. The family raised almost all of their own food. Besides the fruit from the orchard, the family maintained a large vegetable garden. In their spare time between harvest, they canned, preserved, pickled, brined, dried, and made jams and jellies. After generation of enjoying these wonderful treats the family decided to begin producing them for others.. . In 2006, Carol Iwasaki (third generation) decided to move back to the farm and soon began the process of building a commercial processing facility. In her youth she helped her mother and grandmother put up dozens of jars of tomatoes, peaches,pears, pickles, jams and jellies, all from the orchard.. . Today, the farm produces stone fruit ( cherries, peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums and pluots) in the summer, persimmons and olive oil in the fall and citrus (mandarins, navels, lemons, pummelos, melogold, blood orange) in the late fall and early winter. The fruit is hand picked, sorted and packed. The premium fruit is sent to the Farmers Markets and stores including Whole Foods Market, restaurants and specialty stores.. . The cosmetically challenged fruit is sent to the processing kitchen to make value added products under the label of Orchard Delights at Twin Peaks. These products are hand made in small batches. The same way it was done long ago. To continue the legacy of farming, a small orchard was created within the Twin Peaks Orchard using all organic practices and bringing back the old favorites such as Albertas and 49ers Peaches and Satsuma Plums and others. This part of the orchard is called Orchard Delights. Quality, sustainability, food safety, from seed to tree, to plate and fork. From jams and jellies to olive oil and honey.
