Although we are not part of the city of Romeoville, we try to work closely with them, as well as their animal control department to rescue as many animals as we can. A common misconception is that we, as a local humane society, receive government funding. All monies received to care for our rescued animals are earned either by our own fundraising efforts or donations from individuals and businesses.. We are a no kill shelter and all of the animals we save are currently housed in licensed foster homes because we do not have a stand-alone building of our own. We are trying to acquire a building, as it will only increase our efforts to save animals and educate the community. If you are interested in helping us, there are many ways you can contribute.
